Welcome to my blog!
I’m Frede, a 20-something French-Canadian living in the UK.
When I reveal to strangers where I get my accent from, I always get a bemused ‘what are you doing in England then?!’ so let’s get that out the way… I met my now-husband, Edward, in May 2013. Our online friendship quickly developed and became a real life long-distance relationship in June 2015. I packed my bags and moved overseas in February 2016 to be with him. He’s my soulmate, my greatest friend, my best decision and favourite adventure. We eloped in January 2018 and now live in the charming historic city of Lincoln with our two cats, Edgar and Leia.
I change hobbies like I change shirt – pretty often. Although with time, some have stuck: I’m a keen (trail) runner and practice yoga almost daily. I also travel, hike, bake, knit, photograph stuff, and read voraciously. When I’m not doing any of these things, you may find me holding for dear life on the pillion seat of my husband’s motorcycle.
I write about all of that more or less regularly. There is also the occasional post about life in the UK (the good, the bad and the frustrating immigration system) as well as the odd product review.
Even though I have many shifting interests, my lifelong passion resides in languages. I transformed this passion into a living and became a translator. As of June 2018, I’m also a small business owner.
If you landed here accidentally whilst looking for my professional website, it’s this way.
I look forward to sharing more of my thoughts, experiences and adventures. If you have any questions or would like to chat, get in touch at email@example.com.
